Gatekeeper Coffee was founded by two correctional officers who have firsthand experience working with high-risk inmates and recognized the need for a mental boost to start their challenging days. These officers, through their interactions with inmates facing the most severe consequences, understood the importance of mental focus and alertness when dealing with risk on a daily basis. This realization led them to establish  Gatekeeper Coffee, aiming to provide high-caffeine coffee that could support individuals in similar environments. 

Over time, the two correctional officers transitioned into roles as substance abuse counselors, where they discovered a newfound passion for helping and uplifting others. Their work with individuals battling addiction underscored the significance of small comforts like a cup of coffee in daily routines. This shift in career paths not only allowed them to continue making a positive impact on people’s lives but also fueled their desire to create a brand that stood for resilience, support, and empowerment.
